Wondering why you even need a prenatal nutritionist?

Proper nutrition leading up to and during pregnancy is critical.

Maternal nutrition deeply influences fetal development and your child’s long-term health, including that of future generations. In fact, nutritional needs will change during fertility, from trimester to trimester, and into postpartum recovery.

Micronutrients from our foods contribute to the function and health of our cells, impacting tissue, organ, and organ system development. So, nutrition becomes the gentlest way to ensure the health of mom and baby.

There is no sweeter time to be mindful about your health.

Curious about the benefits of maternal nutrition?

Well, there’s a lot. Here’s the start:

For fertility

  • Regulates fertility hormones ahead of treatments.

  • Supports menstrual cycle, emphasis on luteal phase.

  • Improves egg quality; enhances sperm quality and motility.

  • Minimizes negative fetal health outcomes: allergies to NTD’s.

  • Gets mom ahead of proper supplementation and micronutrients.

  • Optimizes baby’s development early on (e.g., brain & spine health).

  • Strengthens intestinal lining and immune system while on medications.

  • Stress support and mental health management.

  • Holistically supports reproductive hormones (e.g., progesterone, LH, and FSH).

  • May yield earlier conception than conventional treatments alone.

For pregnancy

  • Reduces the risk of complications during pregnancy and birth (e.g., preterm labor, tearing).

  • Regulates blood glucose spikes, aiding energy and mood.

  • Manages insulin resistance via intestinal microflora.

  • Minimizes uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms (e.g., heartburn, nausea).

  • Helps maintain energy and a healthy pregnancy weight.

  • Strengthens intestinal lining aiding in nutrient synthesis.

  • Reduces the chances of baby developing food allergies.

  • Provides your baby the head start they need: fetal programming baby’s genetics.

For postpartum

  • Replenish your body from pregnancy and birth.

  • Gently supports sleep deprivation.

  • Tends to postpartum depression, anxiety, and baby blues.

  • Identifies new food allergies and sensitivities.

  • Get back to feeling like yourself.

  • Assists with weight management.

  • Yes! Many clients use this payment option for their coaching programs to offset the financial load to your family. HSA/FSA cards can be used to cover practitioner fees and oftentimes supplements via my online dispensary.

And, while some clients choose to pay for their sessions as they’re incurred, you can also use your HSA/FSA cards to pay for sessions in advance. Remember, those funds don’t transfer over into the next year!

    • Infertility, Miscarriage, and Pre-Conception

    • PCOS and Endometriosis

    • Thyroid and Hormone Balance

    • Autoimmune Disease

    • Adrenal and Cortisol Dysfunction

    • Food Allergies and Intolerances

    • Digestive issues

    • Mental Health and Mood Disorders

    • Metabolic and Weight Management

    • Heart Health

    • Skin Conditions

  • Certainly, let’s talk. Reach out to me via the Contact page and I’ll be in touch within 24 hours to schedule a quick call with you. I’d love to hear more about your unique needs and learn how I can best support your families baby dreams.

  • Absolutely! I encourage partners to take an active role in their nutrition, too. Data shows that of couples experiencing infertility, at least 50% is attributed to male-factor causes. The onus should not be solely on the woman to address and enhance her nutrition before or during conception.

Because you each have separate bodies, nutrition coaching will be held separately so we can drill down to each of your root cause issues. Though, a discounted rate can be applied to your coaching package. Reach out to me via the Contact page to learn more about partner nutrition coaching.

  • That depends on your unique needs and goals. Nutrition is what I call “slow medicine,” meaning this practice gets integrated into your day-to-day gradually over time. It’s in this way that you’ll experience the most sustainable and achievable growth that will carry forward for generations to come.

Generally, I recommend fertility clients have weekly sessions and graduate into bi-weekly sessions once they get a positive pregnancy test. Pregnancy and postpartum clients may start out at bi-weekly sessions.

Naturally, the more time we have together, the deeper your foundation and understanding of health will become. I recommend we start with 6 months of sessions, though this may modulate based on where in your gestation you’re initiating nutrition coaching.

  • This depends on how frequently and at what duration your nutrition coaching sessions are held. Though, you can anticipate an investment of $590-$1,180 per month.

  • I curate nutrition plans that are tailored to you and your unique needs. Improve your relationship with food, support your mind-body-spirit and let me suss through the noise for you. No more guessing. No more googling.

    Here’s what you can expect:

    • Convenient, virtual appointments

    • A nutrition and lifestyle plan that grows with your needs

    • Personalized meal guidance that fits into your needs, ability, and budget

    • Optional meal plans which includes recipes and downloadable + categorized shopping lists

    • Educational tips + tricks that support your indicated fertility goals

    • Ongoing, customized supplement recommendations, which are available to you at a discount and ship right to your door

    • To feel empowered in taking control of your own reproductive health knowing the root cause of your imbalances

  • Functional lab testing is not included in your nutrition coaching package. Any bloodwork, such as allergy, cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid, or iron is an additional out of pocket cost. Though, if you’re able to access recent lab testing, we can use this to guide your nutrition care plan.

Additionally, supplements are an out-of-pocket cost. Though, these can be purchased via my online dispensary at a -10% discount to you and shipped right to your door.

  • Yes! This is encouraged but not required.

  • Group coaching is currently not available, however, please email me to have your name added to the waitlist.

  • I am not a supplement heavy practitioner. I believe optimal wellness and fertility is best achieved through whole foods. Whole foods are best utilized in the body in harmony with one another; this process cannot be replicated via supplements.

However, there are times where introducing supplements is the most appropriate clinical choice. Some vitamins and minerals aren’t well-attained through food, such as vitamin D. Others require daily intake that is higher than what we naturally consume through food, like folate. During pre-conception and pregnancy, you would have to eat 12 cups of raw spinach to reach the recommended folate levels – unrealistic!
